Event Details

Melbourne has long been ranked as one of the world’s most liveable cities - but faced with an ageing population and increased rates of mortality, can Melbourne also become the world’s most death-able city?

Discover the meaning of a ‘good death’ and co-design the city’s deathly future in this interactive workshop with digital design firm Portable. Get down with the ghouls, ghosts, rituals and experiences of death - and create the ideal space and place for healthy dying. Explore how we might improve Melbourne's death-ability score and become renowned as the perfect place for a gentle departure.

Wheelchair accessible, Auslan interpretation on request

Date:  Saturday 25 May, 2pm - 4pm

Carbon neutral contribution

Melbourne Knowledge Week is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and will be certified carbon neutral for 2019.

This means we will measure the festival’s carbon emissions and implement actions to reduce them. Then we will purchase offsets on your behalf to cover the remaining emissions and achieve carbon neutrality.

Your contribution will go towards a range of offset projects including a reforestation project in NSW and a project which enables Aboriginal communities to reduce emissions through improved land management practices in the Kimberley.

Take action on climate change, act now.
